when is my child ready for potty training?
1. Your child can stay dry for at least 2 hours—Nighttime does not count, only daytime does.
2. Your child recognizes that a toilet is for voiding one’s bladder or bowels.
3. Your child shows and communicates an urge before urinating or having a bowel movement.
4. Your child complains when his/her diaper is wet or dirty.
5. Your child can pull up or down his own pants and underwear.
6. Your child shows or communicates an interest in the toilet and potty training.
7. You child can sit on the toilet or potty for 5 minutes at a time.
